Adam Johnson earned first-team All-State honors twice while playing soccer at Ludington High School, was a member of the 1994 state runner-up team, and was the first Mason County soccer player to actively play at a Division I college. The 2001 Ludington boys soccer team won the 2001 MHSAA Division 3 soccer state championship with a 24-1-2 record. The Orioles won district and regional titles as well as its conference.
