Nick Allen - High School Athlete Honorees - 2011

Nick Allen, of Mason County Central, lettered four times in cross country and wrestling and three times in baseball, and was named Mason County Central’s Senior Male Athlete of the Year. In wrestling, Nick earned All West Michigan Conference honors, as well as all-district, all-area, and all-state honors and served as the Spartan’s team captain. He set a school record with 56 victories in the 2010-2011 season against five defeats and finished sixth in the Division 3 state tournament at 160 pounds. He also owns MCC’s career record with 170 victories against 45 defeats. Nick was also named the Lenz & Associates’ Student Athlete of the Month and earned All-West Michigan Conference Academic honors in cross country and baseball. Compiling a grade point average of 3.75, he earned H.G. Bacon Academic Excellence honors for four years. A National Honor Society member, he was also active in S.A.D.D. and youth wrestling programs and was a freshman mentor. He is the son of Jim and Amanda Allen.
