Steve Hull - MCSHOF Inductee - 2023
Steve Hull, a 1975 graduate of Ludington High School, was an eight-time varsity letter winner, selected All-Seaway Conference in football, basketball and track and was honored with all-state honorable mention in basketball in 1974 and as all-state first team in 1975. He was selected all-district in basketball twice; in football once and in track and field once and all-regional in basketball in 1974 and 1975. Hull scored 890 career points and was the leading scorer and rebounder in 1974-75. Hull was elected the LHS Senior Male Athlete of the Year at Ludington High School in 1975. Hull took his basketball talents to Grand Valley State University, where he played basketball from 1975 to 1979. He was voted Most Valued Teammate in both 1978 and 1979. His GVSU team had a 30-4 win-loss record in 1977, the same year Grand Valley placed fourth in the NAIA Tournament. Hull graduated from GVSU in 1979 and was a graduate assistant coach in the 1979-80 basketball season. Hull was a teacher at Turtle Mountain Indian School and a commercial fisherman in Alaska before returning to Ludington to serve as a School Guidance Counselor. He coached basketball at Mason County Eastern and Ludington, is a Mason County orchard farmer, and a County Commissioner.
