Maksim “Maks” Flanery – Perseverance & Respect

Maksim “Maks” Beau Flanery, son of Brian and Jennifer Flanery, has been selected as the recipient of the Life Lesson Award at Ludington High School for demonstrating perseverance and respect. Maks earned a 3.010 grade point average while participating in a rigorous course load including participation in the Career and Technical Education Programming at the Summit Career Tech Center through the West Shore ESD. Maks participated in football and golf and was always willing to do whatever was asked of him; from playing multiple positions because he was asked by the coaches and working diligently to help develop Ludington’s youth football program. Maks was the consummate team player, named team captain of the football and golf teams his senior year. Maks was named West Michigan Conference Honorable Mention in golf and was a three-year letter winner in football. Maks participated in the Mason County 4-H program, including a number of volunteer opportunities. Maks was recognized by the coaching staff at Ludington High School for his perseverance in athletics and academics as well as for the respect he shows on the field, on the golf course, and in the community. Maks will attend West Shore Community College in the fall to study agricultural science. Maks chose Lakeshore Food Club as the recipient of the donation given in his honor by the Mason County Sports Hall of Fame.
