Mackenzie Luce - High School Athlete Honorees - 2018

Earned eight varsity letters throughout her high school career – three in basketball and two each in volleyball and soccer. In volleyball, Luce set state records for aces in a single game with 20 and aces in a best of five games match with 32. Her 111 aces for a season placed her on the states record books, too. She won the Oriole’s captain for two seasons, earned All-Conference honors her senior year, and was an academic All-State selection her senior year. Luce was a team captain her senior year on the basketball team while also earning academic All-State honors her junior year, and as an honorable mention her senior year. She also excelled on the soccer field, where she was the captain in spring, and earned more academic All-State honors. She was a finalist for the MHSAA’s Scholar Athlete Award, and the school nominated her for the Michigan High School Coaches Association’s Rich Tompkins Multi-Sport Award. She also received the Girls’ Outstanding Senior Student Athlete Award from the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan. Luce was an Alpha Graduate with a 4.054 grade point average, served on the National Honor Society and Ludington student council, and was the Ludington High School Female Athlete of the Year. She is planning to attend Westshore Community College.
