Kada Knizacky - High School Athlete Honorees - 2011
Kada Knizacky, of Mason County Eastern, was chosen the Mason County Sports Hall of Fame’s Femaie Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Knizacky earned a total of 15 varsity letters in her four-year athletic career at Eastern. She lettered four times each in cross country and track and field, three times in volleyball, twice in basketball and once each in softball and soccer.
In track and field, Knizacky won eight Western Michigan D League championships and qualified for the Division 4 state finals in all four seasons. This season, she set school records in the 100- and 400 meter dashes. She earned first-team All-WMD honors three times in cross country.
A 3.45 student, Kada was active in student council, a member of the yearbook staff, and a National Honor Society member.
Her volunteer work included working at the Gus Macker, the Scottville Harvest Festival, the Fountain Horse Pull, the Special Olympics basketball tournament, and helping out at other MCE athletic events.
She received MCE’s Athletic Booster Scholarship, Athletic Director Award, U.S. Marine Corp Distinguished Athlete Award, and was named MCE’s Female Athlete of the Year.
Her parents are Ed and Trisha Knizacky.
