Haley Story - Life Lesson Awards Honorees - 2023

Haley Story and Cullen Kraus-McCarty are the honorees from Mason County Central High School for the Life Lesson Award presented by the Mason County Sports Hall of Fame. Haley is the daughter of JoAnna and the late Rich Story and Cullen is the son of Monica Kraus-McCarty. Haley was a member of the bowling team for four years and a state-qualifier in 2022. Haley's senior bowling season was one of adversity and perseverance. Haley's father passed away suddenly around the mid-point of the bowling season. In spite of this difficult and trying time, Haley continued to bowl competitively for the rest of the season, overcoming in the midst of a family tragedy. Haley was also a member of the Spartan Robotics team and attended the Educational Academy. She attained a 3.94 grade point average and plans to attend West Shore Community College to begin her college studies in pursuit of a career in teaching. Haley has chosen the Fin and Feather Club of Mason County as the recipient of the charitable donation being issued in her honor.
