About Martha (Garrett) Moore - MCSHOF Inductee - 2010
Martha Garrett was a three-time first-team all-state gymnast. She was a key performer for the Orioles in all four years of her high school career. During her prep career, Ludington never lost a meet, winning four consecutive state championships. The team was undefeated in 73 straight competitions that included duals, conference and regional championship meets and state finals. As a freshman at state, she was second in floor exercises, third on the uneven parallel bars, fourth in vaulting and tumbling and third in the all-around competition. It was her vault that clinched Ludington High's first-ever state championship. As a sophomore, Garrett was third on the uneven bars and fourth in vaulting. As a junior, she was the state champion on the vault, third on the uneven bars and fifth in the all-around. As a senior, she was third in all-round and finished second on the uneven bars and third in vaulting. Garrett attended Oral Roberts University where she competed in gymnastics, earning trips to the nationals in her junior and senior years. She was the first Ladies Cup recipient at Oral Roberts, an award given annually to the school's outstanding female athlete.
