Alex Tyndall - High School Athlete Honorees - 2025

Alex Tyndall, selected the 2025 Male Senior High School Athlete of the Year by the MCSHOF Board of Directors, excelled in cross country and track & field, earning Michigan High School Athletic Association All-State honors in both sports in 2024 and 2025.

Tyndall was the MCDCCA Small School State Champion in cross country in 2025 and set the Mason County Eastern cross-country school record in 2025.

In track & field, Tyndall placed fifth in both 1600 and 3200 meter runs at the MHSAA Division IV State Track Meet in 2025. He holds the MCE school record in the 3200 and set the Mason County 3200 record with a time of 9:21.71, breaking Paul Peterson’s 1978 county record of 9:22.3.

Tyndall was MCDCCA Small School All-State in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and hold four Regional Champion titles, in the 1600 in 2025 and in the 3200 in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Alex was Team Captain of both the cross country and track & field teams in 2024 and 2025 and received Academic All-State.

In the West Michigan All-Star Invitational Meet, which includes all classes, Tyndall won the 1600 in 4:26.73 and the 3200 in 10:00.50. He was the Western Michigan D League Champion in the 1600 in 2025, in the 4 X 400 relay in 2024 and in the 4 x 800 relay in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

While in high school, Tyndall was a significant part of the cross-country team winning four straight WMD League Championships and in track & field, three out of four years of WMD League Championships. The cross-country teams also won the Regional Championships three out of four years.

Alex is the son of Rebecca and Scott Tyndall and was also honored with a MCSHOF Life Lesson Award for his teamwork and leadership. Tyndall plans to attend Lake Superior State University to run cross country and track.
